CH. DEERPARK DOUBLE PLAY CD "Scarlet"
9/24/88 - 2/28/98
Euthanized, undetermined cardiac degeneration.
Ch. DeerPark Heartlight x Ch. DeerPark Ferkin v Buttonwillow
Scarlet was my first Berner, and what an introduction to the breed! A wonderfully bossy, funny dog who loved life, and especially the show ring, she was the BMDCA #1 Conformation Bitch in 1990.
CH. POLARIS PRELUDE "Shiva"
4/3/91 - 3/30/01
Euthanized, osteosarcoma
Ch. DeerPark Heartlight Heritage x Ch. Deerpark Double Play CDt
Shiva was our first homebred champion, and was one of those special dogs who could sense your every mood. His greatest moments came in team obedience, where he never failed to get the crowd laughing.
CH. EDELWEISS BEACON V POLARIS "Better"
7/29/93 - 12/5/02
Euthanized, malignant histiocytosis
Ch. Arthos October v Berndash x Ch. DeerPark H'Dezaley v Edelweiss
Every dog we have in our lives is special, but I think each of us is blessed with one "heart" dog: one who is a part of your soul. Better was my heart dog: not my best show dog (though he finished his championship before he was 9 months old), not the greatest performance dog or stud. He was simply my best friend, and the memory of this magnificent gentle dog will always be with me.
CH. EDELWEISS DE CHELLY CD"Spaz"
9/19/95 - 7/3/2003
Euthanized, undetermined neurologic changesre
Ch. Quitte v Gammenthal x Ch. Edelweiss Broken Hearts Heal
Though I had known her since she was born, and always handled her in the show ring, Spaz didn't come to live with me until she was two, when her former owners were unable to keep her. An easy-going, sweet dog, she was a much-loved addition to the Polaris family.

Ch. ZENITH V BERNTTA "Brinkley"
2/21/00 - 10/13/08
Euthanized, malignant histiocytosis
Nagoja von den Roten Eichen x Quiss v Gammenthal
Brinkley was my bossy little Swiss girl who had to always in charge of everything. But like the most effective leaders, she did it with a smile. Although her Berner-Garde health entries read like a veterinary textbook of medical problems, (tore both cruciate ligaments, cardiac problems that defied explanation, and ultimately cancer), she was the proverbial Energerizer bunny, far out-living all doctors expectations, and doing so with enthusiasm and style. She is dearly missed.

UGOGRYL SURPRISE ENDING, CD, RN "Gatsby"
09/29/01 - 05/22/09
Euthanized, complications from pneumonia
Am/Can Ch. Quell v Bernetta x Ch. Vivian Leigh vom Scheimathoff
Gatsby was better known as "The Gatsman", and if you sang that to the tune of the theme from Batman, he got virtually giddy with excitement. But then again, Gatsby lived most of his life giddy with excitement, which could be challenging at times, but was also incredibly endearing.
